This box set (which is a little disappointing in the amount of information it gives) has several sections.
The first section is a introduction/dedication from Phil Spector:
This collection is dedicated to my Father, Ben Spector, who though on this earth but a short time, left me with loving and beautiful memories; and who inspired my very first song, "To Know Him Is To Love Him."
I cannot forget those people who though now gone, came into my life, left footprints on my heart, and I was never the same; Lenny Bruce, Ralph Gleason, John Lennon, Doc Pomus, Tom Donahue, Elvis Presley, Paul Case and Mac Machourian.
I would like to thank everyone who participated, in the making of these recordings, the artists, songwriters, musicians, singers, arrangers and engineers. Most of all, I hope these recordings will bring back memories to those of you who heard them when they were originally made and released. And, for all of you, who may be hearing any of the recordings for the first time, I hope they will be part of the beginning of a lifetime of memories for you.
Finally, I would like to share a few words that I have often kept close to my heart, as encouragement, during moments of both joy and sadness.
"To be a star, unto yourself,
you must shine your own light,
follow your own path,
and ignore the darkness;---
for that is when stars shine brightest."
