Joe Crookston
I recently became aware of Joe Crookston through some friends and wow, what a gift! His latest CD "Darkling & the BlueBird Jubilee" has been spinning in my car since I received it. I've been struggling with the right words to describe it, but I think it's quirky, fun, pensive, and introspective. Like most CDs that are worth listening to, you will have to listen to this one over and over. It's highly likely that you'll move from song to song, deciding that this one is now your new favorite song (but you'll constantly be rediscovering a favorite). In this era of disposable and forgettable music, that is a joyous problem to have.
You can visit his ALN page here: Joe Crookston
You can visit his CD page here: Darkling & the BlueBird Jubilee
or his personal website at: www.joecrookston.com
So, you owe it to yourself to discover Joe Crookston (and he deserves it too!). We need more artists like him (and the many more unsung heroes out there)! Enjoy!

The Major Labels
This group, with members Bleu, Mike Viola and Ducky Carlisle, have released their first CD "Aquavia." It is a strong first release and is highly enjoyable. We have listened to it quite a bit (and from beginning to end, which really says something). You deserve a break from the typical pop sound - this CD is a nice musical detour.
You can read our little review at their artist page: The Major Labels. You can find their Liners here: Aquavia and you can visit their myspace to read more about them and pick up a copy of the CD. Which we recommend: www.myspace.com/themajorlabels

Chewy Marble
Our new Featured Artist, Chewy Marble, has put together a tight little collection of songs. They are catchy, you can singalong with them, or just put them on and have them play in the background. The Liner Notes from this album, Modulations, can be found here. The new album is out on SideBMusic. You can pick up a copy at their website:

Or you can buy their CD by clicking here:

Rhesus
The new EP from Rhesus, an English group whose music I've been listening to lately, makes you wish there were more tracks on the disc. (Actually, there is - since there's a hidden track!) Anyway, it's a very cool collection of songs. The band sounds tight and I'm very excited about hearing their complete album. Soon I hope.
Their new release entitled Narcolepsy Baby can be purchased via iTunes, Amazon or on their Myspace page:
www.myspace.com/rhesus
or their website at:
